They don’t call her the “Bos” for nothing.

At the Golden Globes it was all about Kate Bosworth’s sparking beauty as she shone in a Dolce & Gabbana pink sequin gown that inspired sighs of adoration everywhere. Makeup artist Patti Dubroff chose Laura Mercier to create a dreamy look she described as “pretty in pink with ice accents”.

HOW TO DO IT

This look is all about polished perfection with subtle pastel and rose pink accents. You want to keep the skin flawless and demi-matt, so that the focus is on the eyes, cheeks lips and oh so soft and come-hither (in the most demure way, of course).

Laura Mercier products were used to create a stunning harmony of gelato pink and dusty rose. Red Carpet glamour requires long-wear and shine-control, so get a perfect base with a hydrating primer that will ensure your complexion stays put from dusk till dawn. I love Laura Mercier's Foundation Primer that has a cult following and plumps the skin as it works.

This look is perfect for those who are on the oilier side or prefer a little more powder, as the velvet finish provides a beautiful base to dust over a flushed cheek. Chanel's Les Beiges Healthy Glow Powders provide the right amount of 'polish' without everlooking cakey and allow you to build if you need to. If you love a dewy complexion, the highlight created by the shimmering ice pink shadows will serve you well and contrast nicely with the muted rosebud lip - don't go overboard with the highlighter here.

Make sure you add good sweep of blush for this romantic look. The muted rose tones of Chanel's Rose Initiale #72 and Rose Petale #99 were created just for looks like these, giving you a pretty cheek that won't look overdone with a shimmering pink lid.

For eyes, keep it simple and let it shine with crystalline champagne and pink diamond tones like those in the Laura Mercier Artist's Eye Palette, featuring a dozen shades in warm to cool. If you want to up the sparkle, you can add even more light with Becca's Shimmering Skin Perfector. Keep the lash line clean and play up with a lengthening and defining mascara like Dior Addict It-Lash Mascara, perfect for definition without the clumps.

The rosebud lip is the icing on the pink cake here, and my favourite is Chanel's iconic Rouge Coco in #428 Legende which is long lasting and imparts a hint of gold to its rose hues, for the perfect kiss-me pout.
